What Is Vue.js?

Vue.js is an open-source JavaScript framework, mainly used to build user interfaces. It is especially suited to single-page applications (SPAs). Vue is lightweight and flexible, so it is used at every scale, from small and medium projects to large applications.
The main features of Vue.js:
- Lightweight and easy to use: Vue is a small library with a gentle learning curve, so developers can add it to projects and use it quickly.
- Two-way data binding: with v-model, changes in the model are reflected in the user interface automatically, and input from the interface updates the model.
- Component-based development: Vue encourages splitting an application into small, reusable components, which makes code more modular and easier to maintain.
- Directives: Vue supports directives that add special behaviour to HTML, making it richer and more dynamic.
- Templating: Vue builds user interfaces from HTML templates that work together with JavaScript to produce dynamic content.
- State management with Vuex: Vue applications can use the Vuex library to manage application-wide state centrally.
- Routing: Vue Router, Vue's official router, manages navigation between pages in SPAs.
Vue appeals to a wide audience, from beginners to experienced developers. Being lightweight, easy to learn and flexible are the main reasons for its popularity.
Note: With Vue 3, the officially recommended state management library is Pinia. Vuex keeps working in existing projects, but Pinia is preferred for new ones.
